What Is Media Arts? Media Arts is the study of human communication through film, photography, video, audio, computer/digital arts, and interactive media.

Through a technological lens, NSA students will advance their understanding of creative media and its practical uses.

Curriculum 

Conservatory course progression includes at least two conservatory classes each year. The curriculum will include courses such as:

  • Media Arts I-IV
  • Digital Arts & Design
  • Filmmaking
  • Photography
  • Creative Writing
  • Audio Engineering
  • Yearbook
  • Drawing/Painting
  • Dual Enrollment Media Arts Course

2025-2026 Media Arts Audition Requirements

After you have applied to NSA through the school options process, you will receive a link within 24 to 48 hours to schedule your in-person audition. Check your spam folder if you don't see the link.

Your scheduled in-person audition on Saturday, February 8 will require the following:

  • Arrive early and dress appropriately.
  • Prepare and bring a portfolio to show your work. Entries can be photographs, videos, graphic design, animation, short films, creative writing.
  • Prepare and bring a typed 300 word essay explaining who you are, why you would like to attend NSA, and what you can contribute to our community.
  • An in-person scheduled interview
